Frequently Asked Questions

How do you derive your top 100?
The top 100 is derived from a panel of experts. 1st we rate the production value of a show on a 50 point scale. This is rated from everything from originality, quality, entertainment, to viewer appeal. Next we do almost a viewers choice type rating where we take votes from our site to votes from other independent companies on what show people are actually watching. The final step is to take information from other rating companies and see how each show is being rated according to the viewers and station they air on.

How come my favorite show is not listed?
Well it could be they don't make the top 100. Another reason may be that we have not had a chance to rate the show. Click on vote and tell us your favorite. We have been working on our list and taking information for 4 years now. We currently get 20,000 votes a year, now that we are public, we expect that to reach 100,000 by the start of 2009.

Is this rating system 100% accurate?
Of course not, no system is but this system rates all of TV not just ones that are rated by other companies. We are a quality and viewers choice type rating system, maybe the best available for you to choose what shows you should be checking out in this world of hundreds and hundreds of outdoor programming shows, we will tell you what others are watching.

I have voted 100 times for my favorite show and they have not moved in the rankings?
We only accept 1 vote per IP address so that everything remains fair. Voting for someone more than once a year is a waste of time.

Who do you work with?
We work with some huge names in the business of outdoor programming that we agree to keep secret. We do NOT work with anyone who produces, has, or is on any outdoor show.

Here at bestoutdoorshow.com we have found that just about every show and producer feel they deserve to be a top 20 show. What that does is create for us many haters of our website and we accept that knowing not everyone was going to be happy, but this is the fairest methods of rating outdoor programming. We won't take money or sponsors from anyone in the TV business. Please take your complaints to the viewers and editors of shows, not here, we cannot force viewers to watch a show to get a better rating nor do we have any way to control the quality or content of a show.
